Seit 1956 legt Comitti ganz besonderen Wert auf die Kunst der Mahagoni-Bootsbauerei. Die Boote werden noch heute sowohl für ihre charakteristische Fahrtüchtigkeit sowie ausgeprägte Stabilität und ihre Renn-Erfolge geschätzt. Comitti führt dieses Erbe heute weiter und bewahrt die Geschäftsphilosophie und die Handswerkskunst.
Comitti ist einer der letzten Bootsbauer in Italien, der noch immer handgefertigte Boote herstellen.
Elia Comitti verschmolz das Familienunternehmen anfangs 2000 mit der Familie Reiner, die ihrerseits eine langjährige Leidenschaft für Comitti-Boote pflegte. Unter einer neuen Geschäftsleitung erneuerte Comitti die klassischen Modelle und erweiterte das Sortiment, indem es moderne Konstruktionstechniken mit dem traditionellen Kunsthandwerk klassicher Holzboote verband. 18 Boote verlassen jährlich die Produktionsstätten im Vorgebirge von Como (Italien).
